Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar for about a minute, until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix to combine.
  • Add in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until the dough forms. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop the dough and place it onto a plate or small pan lined with parchment paper. Pop the scooped dough into the refrigerator to chill for 30 minutes.
  • After chilling the dough, preheat the oven to 350F. Roll the chilled, scooped dough into balls. Place the balls a few inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake the cookies for 14-16 minutes, until the edges of the cookies are just starting to turn light golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a cooling rack. Enjoy!
