If you've ever wanted fresh cookies but didn't want to make a full batch, then this cookie is for you! This giant double chocolate chip cookie is a one bowl recipe that will cure any sweet tooth. It's got crispy edges, a soft and chewy center, and is loaded with tons of chocolaty flavor.

INGREDIENTS FOR A GIANT DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE

Alright, if you're ready to dive face first into this cookie, then it's time to get baking! Here's a list of everything you'll need!

    • All-purpose flour

    • Cocoa powder

    • Baking powder

    • Espresso powder

    • Salt

    • Unsalted butter

    • Granulated + brown sugar

    • Egg yolk

    • Vailla extract

    • Chocolate chips

HOW TO MAKE A GIANT DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE

This giant double chocolate chip cookie is so simple to make. To begin, mix together the melted butter, peanut butter, and sugar until combined. Add in the egg yolk and vanilla extract and mix to combine. Add in the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, baking powder, and salt and mix until the dough forms.

Fold in the chocolate chips. Form the dough into one big round ball (you can totally make this recipe into two larger cookies instead of one giant cookie, you might just have to adjust the baking time). Press more chocolate chips into the top of the dough, if desired. No chill time is needed for this cookie, so go ahead and pop it into a preheated 350°F oven, and bake for 20-21 minutes, until the edges are just starting to brown.

Once the cookie is done baking, allow to cool for about 5-10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack. Then, you can let it cool completely or enjoy it warm!

TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST COOKIE

This is a pretty simple and straight forward recipe, but I wanted to include just a few things you can do to make sure you bake up the best giant cookie possible!

    • Don't skip the espresso powder! Although it is an optional ingredient, I highly recommend using that little bit of espresso powder in the cookie dough. Coffee helps deepen and enhance the flavor of the chocolate, bringing out so much of the chocolate flavor in the cookie.

    • Use your favorite type of chocolate. This recipe is definitely not chocolate chip-specific. I used a mix of semisweet and bittersweet chocolate chips, but you can absolutely use whichever kind you'd like!

    • Enjoy it warm! You can choose to eat this cookie warm or completely cooled, but my favorite way to enjoy it is warm and with a big glass of milk. I love them the cookie is still warm and the chocolate is still gooey and melty.

If you decide you give this cookie a try, I hope you love it! Happy baking! ♥
